Hailing from Evansville, IN, Andrew is a guitarist, pianist, and composer.

He graduated from Ball State University where he studied music production, guitar, composition, and music theory.

He enjoys listening to a wide variety of music, from jazz to classical to disco to heavy metal.

He started piano lessons at the age of 4, and since then music has been a part of every aspect of his life.

Briar Hajek-Jones Columbia Piano, Voice, Music Theory, Improvisation, Trumpet.

Briar is a trumpet player and pianist from Omaha, Nebraska. He’s spent the past couple years working as a paraprofessional educator and is currently employed by Columbia Public Schools. He loves teaching music and wants to continue teaching for schools or universities as well as A Major Music.

His mother started teaching him piano when he was 6. He studied classical piano and played mainly as a soloist or jazz pianist throughout middle school and high school. He also picked up trumpet when he was 10, taking private lessons through most of middle school and high school. He’s studied both classical and jazz piano and trumpet, and loves playing a wide range of different styles. Before college, he played trumpet for a pops orchestra and in church.

Gavin is a Scottish born multi-instrumentalist and composer with 24 years experience as a performer/recording artist and 19 years as an educator. He is committed to sharing his passion and excitement for music.

At age 14, he began performing and recording on electric bass and guitar with several groups and song writers, and has been teaching music since the year 2000. Gavin was awarded a performance scholarship and studied for two years at Webster University. He has toured all over north America and internationally.

Jamaica is from Saint Louis, Mo. She began taking piano lessons at the age of 9. She has a love for education and has held a love for music her entire life. Classical music is her favorite, but she also enjoys jazz and ragtime. Jamaica has attended Saint Louis University, the University of Missouri-St. Louis, and is finishing up her Psychology degree and Elementary Education certification at Columbia College.

Jamaica has played at churches, weddings, recitals, competitions, and talent shows. One of her relishes is to be able to share the gift of music with the world and ignite the talent in those around her. Jamaica has one daughter, 7, and is a full-time homeschooling parent. She and her daughter enjoy reading, watching 'Turtle Tales' and listening to Michael Jackson in their spare time.

Lee is 32 years old and was born and raised in St. Louis Missouri. His mom got him into music at the age of 8 where he started piano. His grandfather taught him how to play guitar while they were fishing on the banks of the Meramec river during the summertime.

He has been playing guitar since he was 15 years old, and he has played in a few different bands with different music styles, as well as studied music theory and guitar at Meramec community college.

Matthew Johnson was raised in Columbia for all of his life, and began playing piano and reading sheet music since he was six.

He kept lessons going until he graduated high school and is now pursuing a musical and artistic career for movie production.

He is currently in college finishing his general education and is excited to teach music.

At an early age his older musical sister taught him to read music and he was immediately hooked. By age 11 he spent hours on the piano learning every song and style he heard and loved. In his teens, he was gifted a classical guitar and quickly developed the ability to learn songs and complex chord arrangements by ear on the guitar. Although he loves playing and teaching all different genres, his forte is classical and finger styles.

Professionally, Phiya is a macrobiotic educator and has worked in the natural and organic foods industry his entire life. Through the years, in his spare time and as a hobby, he strove to advance his musical skills whenever he could, focusing more recently on jazz piano improvisation and expanding his Brazilian, Spanish and classical guitar. Through the years he has met and been inspired by many musicians who sees music as the universal language that brings people together.

Stephen is a guitarist and pianist from O Fallon, Missouri. He has been playing music every day for hours a day for over ten years. He studied music in college and is currently a senior at MU getting his bachelors degree.

He has played with choirs, jazz bands, rock bands, and many other types of bands. He has studied Jazz, classical, rock, country, folk, bluegrass, funk, experimental, and many other types of musical genres in the world.

Sydney Hemwall was born in Columbia and has been playing music since she was 8. She got started on piano and added voice, flute, oboe, and saxophone in middle school. In high school she began show choir while continuing to take voice and piano.

Sydney went to college at University of Missouri Kansas City for music therapy at their conservatory. She is currently pursuing a degree in environmental science by working on her general education at Moberly Area Community College although music is still huge in her life.

Tahlor is a pianist from Connecticut who moved to East Saint Louis in May of 2018. She has been taking both Jazz and Classical piano lessons since her Freshman year of high school along with other music based classes at the Greater Hartford Academy of the Arts school she attended.

After graduation, Tahlor went on to study music with a minor in Piano performance at Eastern Connecticut State University. While there, she continued private Jazz and piano lessons as well as taking theory, music history, improv, chorale and percussion classes. She was a part of the university’s concert band, Jazz band, and Jazz combo as their lead pianist.

Tommy has been on a musical journey since the age of 15. He started out taking lessons at the local music store where he built a strong foundation to take learning to the next level.

He spends time reading about music theory and playing guitar, drums, and piano while also learning the clarinet, violin, and anything he can get his hands on. He also likes to dabble in producing and making beats for his friends to use.

Uriah Carter Columbia Guitar, Voice, Drums, Music Theory, Improvisation, Song Writing.

Uriah Carter is a guitarist from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He was raised by his grandparents in rural Choctaw, Oklahoma, where he loved to sing and discover new music on the radio. In 7th grade he joined his school choir, and was accepted into the East Central Oklahoma Choral District Association (ECOCDA). He also participated in his church bell choir, traveling to perform around Oklahoma, Texas, and Colorado.

Uriah comes from a family of music-lovers, and he purchased his first Arbor electric guitar and Fender amp, and began learning. Years later, he sold his first car to purchase the guitar he still uses today, his Schecter C-1 Classic.

Zack is a guitarist, saxophonist, and songwriter from De Soto, Missouri. He started playing guitar at nine years old and sax when he was twelve. He has performed with multiple music groups since his early teens, including jazz combos and rock/metal bands.

His favorite thing to do in his spare time is improvising guitar solos to popular songs.

In high school, Zack was the lead guitarist for his jazz ensemble, played the baritone sax for two years in concert and marching band, and also sang for three years in concert choir.
